Release Announcements/0.4.0

Leges Motus

Jump to: navigation, search

Leges Motus, the open-source 2D team-based tactical shooter set in zero-gravity, is glad to announce the release of version 0.4.0, with several new weapon features and other improvements! Note that, despite the fact that this is a minor release, we have tons of new stuff in the works that just wasn't ready to be released in 0.4.0 and will hopefully make it into 0.5.0.

Here are some of the new features (a full list can be seen in the CHANGES file):

  • New penetrating weapons! Weapons can now be set to rip right through things they hit and continue (possibly with reduced damage) to the next target.
  • New area-of-effect weapons! Guns now can fire in any polygonal shape and size. This is currently used for the impact cannon, which now fires in a cone! This should provide plenty of options for people who want to run their own servers with custom guns.
  • A translucent background for the menu, so that you can see the game while you use the menus.

About Leges Motus

The game's multiplayer gameplay combines twitch aiming with strategic planning as players attempt to move across the arena, freezing opponents to reach the other team's gate and bring it down. Leges Motus is looking for map-makers and artists to expand the game's resources, but mostly, it's just looking for you to join in the fun.
